Midnight's Second Chance UPDATE: Midnight has been adopted. Read more here. On Saturday, February 19th, Animal Control Officers responded to an emergency call. A young boy playing in his yard on Poplar St. in South Bend spotted an abandoned injured animal. Upon closer examination, the young boy and his Mother discovered Midnight, a severely injured Black Labrador. It appeared that Midnight had been hit by a car and was left with multiple fractures in both of his front legs. Despite the pain this poor animal had to be in as a result of his extensive injuries, Midnight was wagging his tail and licking the face of the little boy when the officer arrived. During Midnights medical examination it was confirmed that Midnight had sustained multiple severe fractures in both of his front legs. It was determinded that Midnight would need to have a lenghly 4-hour surgery to repair both legs. Surgery was performed by Dr. Chris Payton and Dr. Chis Persing on February 25, 2011. The surgery went well and is waiting to be adopted! Watch the video below to learn more!
