Chiropractic Care At Western Veterinary Clinic

Chiropractic Veterinary Care is for animals of all sizes! Dogs, cats, and horses are pets that benefit from chiropractic veterinary care.

Chiropractic Veterinary Care is a holistic approach to health and performance problems in animals. It is the relationship between structure (the spine) and function (the nervous system). Exam and treatment is based upon a chiropractic exam, which looks at movement, and symmetry. The goal of Chiropractic Veterinary Care is to restore normal function to the spine which should restore normal function to the nervous system.

Vertebral subluxation complexes (VSC’s) are when the joint between two bones is immobile. Things that could cause VSC’s is every day living, micro trauma, age and conformational traits, confinement, diet, exercise, shoeing (horses), and equipment. We identify vertebral subluxation complexes by pain, asymmetry, range of motion, tissue, tone, texture, temperature, and special tests.

Most animals need adjustments at some point in their life. The amount of care depends on the animal’s condition. Some may need weekly treatments initially while others can go for 6 to 12 months until their next visit. Routine adjustments performed on healthy pets could prevent future pain, problems, and expenses.

Chiropractic Veterinary Care is not a replacement for traditional veterinary care, a cure all for illnesses, cracking bones, or fixing something that is “out of place.”
